Modern Family star Ariel Winter opened up about her decision to undergo breast reduction surgery in an interview with a magazine. The 17-year-old actress (who plays Alex Dunphy in the hit TV series) discussed why he chose to have the procedure done.
Like most teenagers, the body of Winter apparently changed overnight. "I remember being in my sister's wedding and being so flat and thinking, 'I wish I'd grow boobs!' and then at night I did. But then they kept growing and growing and growing and it seemed they were going to stop, "he said. "I was 15 years old, with [size] [F] breasts. It's like, 'How do you navigate that?' "Not only his chest made it difficult to find clothes that fit well, it also became the center of a lot of media attention. "We live in a time where all you do is ridiculed," Winter said. "Internet Bullies are horrible. I could post a picture where I feel good, and 500 people to comment on how fat I am and I'm disgusting."
It got so bad that she began to think about breast reduction surgery. Winter has said his family has a "history of big breasts" so it was not too surprising when she brought the idea.
"Some of my cousins have I had breast reductions, so it was no surprise when I decided to get one. I got it for myself. Even I can not really put into words how amazing it feels to feel really good."
