Four-lane road to Amaravati soon

The APCRDA has proposed a new four-lane highway to Amaravati, the new capital of Kanakadurga Varadhi bridge on NH-5. Work on the new capital would begin on October 22.

Current Amaravati road is single lane and pose obstacles in changing construction material. Therefore, APCRDA has planned to build four-lane highway. Besides this, the proposed four-lane highway connecting all villages riverfront on the banks of river Krishna.

There is a shortcut on the Karakatta (flood wall) of the Krishna river that helps users get Tullur and Amaravati. Previously, it was suggested to turn this into a four-lane highway, but as chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu AP plans to stay in hostel Lingamaneni, officials raised security concerns. In addition, the APCRDA plans to build the four-lane highway also connects Varadhi Tadepalli, Undavalli, Penumaka, Malkapuram, Mandadam, Lingayapalem, Tallayapalem and Tullur.

President of the Development Authority Amaravati J. Veeranjaneyulu said a four-lane highway will boost tourism heritage ANCI-ent Undavalli caves, temple Malkapuram, medieval Amareswara Swamy temple, Kotilinga Kshetram of Tallyapalem and Dhyana Buddha project in Amaravati. The APCRDA has issued notices inviting tenders for the construction of four lanes from Kanakadurga Varadhi new capital to Amaravati. APCRDA commissioner N. Srikanth said the proposed four-lane highway will start from Varadhi in Vijayawada-Chennai National Highway, touch Tadepalli and other towns of the river and end in new capital Amaravati. Mr. Srikanth said APCRDA seeks detailed project report on the proposed route, including exploring land, designs, drawings and land required for the acquisition of four rail constructions.

New capital of Andhra Pradesh to have 27 sectors

CRDA vice president and minister of municipal administration P. Narayana, said there would be 27 sectors in the new capital Amaravati each expansion of the sector in 5000 hectares.
