Massive explosions have hit the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin, apparently injuring many people.
According to Chinese state media, the explosion occurred when a cache of explosives blew up at about 23:30 (1630 GMT).
Sharing photos and videos on social networks showed flames lighting up the sky and damage to nearby buildings.
Recent state media reports suggest that hundreds of people have been taken to hospital.
The first explosion was followed by another 30 seconds later.
Later explosions were caused by, the state news agency Xinhua said.
Shock waves apparently could feel several kilometers from Tianjin.
Ms. Yang, a witness, told local media she was out shopping when "suddenly from behind was a big ball of fire and explosion."
