New RC's With Vehicle Owner's Photo Launched in Hyderabad.

From now onwards registration certificate (RC) will have photograph of the vehicle owner as a new security feature in Telangana State.

Launching the new RC with photograph here on Tuesday , transport commissioner Sandeep Sultania said the reason for this that the owner of the vehicle would be identified easily in case of an accident. Also, it would resolve any ownership dispute. As of now, only driving licence has photograph and not RC.

Talking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Telangana transport minister P Mahender Reddy said that the Aadhaar Card was must for all transactions at the RTA. To a query on replacement state code for old vehicles from AP to TS, he said, “Once the issue is settled by the high court, they will implement the rule in Telangana.“ On APSRTC division, he said he had met Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari on the issue and requested for early completion of the exercise. Mahender Reddy said that the government had set a target of Rs 2,500 crore tax collection for the financial year, but the department could earn only Rs 800 crore till now.
