The government plans to hold Telangana Yagams Varuna and special pujas in major Shiva temples to appease the god of rain and monsoon has been playing truant leading to drought conditions in the state.
Late YSR chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh ordered special prayers in all places of worship in June 2009, when the monsoon does not affect agricultural activities in the state after a gap of five years.
