The bank also called amicus curiae S Niranjan Reddy to study the issue and report to the court on the impact of carbide on the health of human beings and especially children nervous system.

The bank also snubbed Ramesh D AP attorney who told the court that inspections have found no presence of carbide in Andhra markets. Errant traders have to face prosecution in addition to the suspension of their licenses, said the bank and directed to the AP, Telangana and the Centre to file affidavits within two weeks detailing the inspections carried out and measures to prevent the use of carbide in fruits
